This was a sample piece to show to potential customers. I had been given the tank so I had a canvas to work on and I wanted to do some artwork that involved two dragons intertwining. The tank was a great shape but had a huge filler cap near the middle which had to be worked into the design.

I sketched up some ideas before working on this more in illustrator producing the line drawing. I placed the line drawing into Photoshop where I airbrushed the final colours. As I had drawn the artwork up in illustrator I could use this line drawing to make some of my stencils on the plotter ready for airbrushing.

As you can imagine there were a lot of stencils involved to produce the very sharp edges I needed for this piece of artwork when airbrushing, I always use free hand with the airbrush where possible, as seen on my Husky video.                       However this job called for a lot of stencil work!

This was for a client that had see one of my other clients motorcycle that I had airbrushed some years before, he wanted a similar overall design with some Celtic artwork on there too.  Many clients find it hard to visualise the final design so I work up a visual for them as you can see below, the visual consists of some sketching and then taking it in to illustrator to finish drawing the design, then taking it in to Photoshop to add the final colour scheme.

Once the client is happy with the design I then started with the silver paint splats, metal plates and rivets on all the components. The main fairing had to be masked and airbrushed on the bike as the design needed to line up where the fairings came together, as you can imagine this took many hours to do only then could I start to work on top of the silver with the Celtic art work, then last of all this was then sent off for lacquering.

A local classic car workshop wanted some signs for the particular areas in their workshop with a vintage feel.   Taking into account what they do, I came up with the idea of the enamel signs, airbrushed and weathered to make them look vintage and rusted. Here I show the concept art from Illustrator and the finished airbrushed pieces.
