Inspired by the history and wildlife of the former RAF Blakehill Farm, we bring you “Blakehill Twenty Two Fifty” to mark the role of the airfield on the 75th anniversary of D Day.The image depicts the exact time of the first aircraft to leave RAF Blakehill Farm on the evening of the 5th June 1944, reflected in the eyes of Strix aluco (Tawny Owl), now found hunting after sunset and often heard calling from woodland and mature trees surrounding the old airfield near to the former main 2000 yard runway, from where men of the 6th Airborne Parachute Regiment, Glider Pilot Regiment and 233 RAF Regiment left on operation Tonga.

Each print measures 58.5cms x 43.0cms and is individually priced at £95 including delivery (UK orders only – see footnote). £20 from the sale of each print will be shared and donated to the RAF benevolent fund and the Wiltshire Wildlife Trust. Each print is individually signed and dated.
